Micro, Shift, and Sequel Weddings.

Updated: Feb 22, 2022

Worried about COVID19 affecting your wedding date? Well, worry no more - you couldn't have picked a more accommodating team to work with! If changes need to be made to your dream wedding, we'll take all the proper steps to make sure it's perfect nonetheless. This is our motto, and it should be yours too: everything is always figureoutable. If possible, postpone and don’t cancel. We know it takes a lot of effort and energy to reschedule a laundry list of vendors, but this is YOUR wedding, and you’re not going to let this pandemic break your spirit. You can make the right moves with a Plan B to overcome this!

Since the advent of the COVID-19 epidemic, safety and cleanliness have become top priority, and our planners and venues have been helping our couples come up with unique ways to distribute effective hand-sanitizing solutions to guests and promote proper social distancing methods. Health and safety of your friends and family is of the utmost importance to us, and that we will take this into account in all of our organizational interactions with clients.

If you are still able to keep your original wedding date, but aren't able to have as many guests as originally planned, here are some fun alternatives we have been doing that can allow your family & friends to have an incredible yet safe reception:

1. Micro Weddings (around 50 people)

Micro-weddings can be fun and intimate! Think about a 200 person wedding where your time visiting with each guest can be very limited. With a 50 person wedding, guests can have a more genuine and interactive experience with each other! Your guests will have their own private, intimate musical affair & the band interacts with every single person in the room.

2. Shift Weddings

Your full guest list broken down into two groups: Ceremony & Cocktail. Venue is thoroughly sanitized, a small crowd is gathered for the wedding ceremony, and rest of the guest list comes in for the later half. (Let's face it, Grandma isn't staying past cake anyway 😄)

3. Sequel Weddings

We'll provide ceremony music, and then help you party later! There's a difference between a marriage and a wedding. With a sequel wedding, you're still able to make it official on your original wedding date! We'll class up your Ceremony by having 1-3 of our top-notch musicians there (Strings, piano, or steel string guitar available). Then, we'll find a later date for your big celebration!

Perhaps all of these options sound great to you, but postponing everything to a later date seems like the most feasible option - we understand and will work with you in every way possible to revise our plan and ensure your complete satisfaction. In any case, rescheduling with us is extremely easy! Don't just take our word for it - here are a few reviews on WeddingWire from couples that have went through the rescheduling process with us.

A Breeze to Work With!
Where to begin! First and foremost, Mike and Funktastic Productions has been so professional and FUN to work with! From our first phone conference, to scheduling our setlist, to rescheduling due to Covid 19, I have always felt like a priority. And yes, we did have to reschedule our wedding and they were literally the easiest vendor to move. Just a couple emails confirming the new date/availability, and done! There was no fee, no hassle, and Mike even sent us a little "sorry you had to reschedule" gift in the mail! It was such a sweet surprise :) They are the vendor we have been most excited about working with for our wedding (a fun live band is at the top of our list for our wedding) and I would highly recommend them to any friends or relatives looking for a fun, highly professional band for any occasion! -Stacey G.
